My Life On An Abandoned Island…

Imagine being stuck on an abandoned island. That is my life! From what I remember I got stuck here after a terrible storm hit my boat and caused a ship wreck, I’ve been here for about 3 years. The island I live in is a classic tropical island, like the ones you see in the movies. It contains many palm trees and lots of shells to collect. The bright sun is always beaming towards the island, and it only rains once a year.  Every morning I wake up to the sound of waves and the smell of salt in the air. I always start my day by gathering fresh fruits or fishing for my breakfast. I then walk around the island looking for cool shells or interesting looking rocks. In  the afternoon I set up my fishing spot and attempt to fish something for lunch. As the days goes on I relax by the campfire I made earlier and reflect on my day.

What I Want To Be When I Grow Up

When I grow up I want to be a pediatric surgeon. I’ve always known that I wanted to be a doctor, I just wasn’t sure what specialty I wanted to go into until the fourth grade. I want to be a pediatric surgeon because I want to help kids and make a difference in their lives. A pediatric surgeon is trained to operate on infants, children, and young adults. They are also trained to treat birth defects and find abnormalities. The medical school I really want to attend is UCI School of Medicine. To become a Pediatric surgeon it takes 9 years after medical school, in total it would be 15 years.

Rad Reading – January

This month I read a book called Reminders Of Him by Colleen Hoover.  This book is about a young woman who returns to her hometown after serving 4 years in prison for a tragic mistake. Her goal is to reunite with her 4 year old daughter who she has never met. Along the way, Kenna faces many challenges, but unexpectedly finds love and support from Ledger Ward, a local bar owner who happens to have a connection with Diem.

I really liked this book because of the engaging plot and the inspiring message the book carries. The plot definitely keeps the readers hooked, the unexpected turns keep the story very interesting and unpredictable. The book delivers a very strong message about resilience and hope.

My favorite character from Reminders Of Him by Colleen Hoover is Kenna, she can be described as resilient. One quote to support my claim is “We’re all just a bunch of sad people doing what we have to do to make it until tomorrow.” This quote signifies Kenna’s awareness of the struggles and sadness in life but despite them she chooses to move forward.

My Favorite quote from the book is “ I have a daughter I have never held. She has a scent I have never smelled. She has a name I have never yelled. She has a mother who has already failed.” I like this quote because it highlights her emotional pain on missing out on many moments and experiences with her own daughter.

A Meaningful Quote…

A quote I find meaningful that was said by Dumbledore is “We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.” This quote is meaningful to me because it signifies the importance of making right decisions, even when they are tough to make. It also emphasizes resilience. Something when choosing whats right is often challenging by all the temptations or peer pressure around you. It also says that we must all face difficult decisions or challenges some point in our lives.

My Hero…

My Dad is the person I greatly admire. My Dad is genuine, funny, empathetic, encouraging, dependable, and loving. One reason on why my dad is my hero is because he encourages my personal growth. He does this specifically in volleyball, after a game he makes me self-reflect on areas I did well and on what I can improve. Another reason on why my dad is my hero is because of his unconditional love and support. My dad has always been there for me, and  is always telling me that he loves me, he also always has  a listening ear on what I have to say. My last reason on why my dad is because of his selfless actions. My dad always puts my family’s well being first often than his own, I really admire him because of that.

RAD READING-December

This Month I read It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover. This book is a sequel to It Ends With Us, It’s about the main character Lilly and her current partner Atlas trying to build a future together, they both overcome difficult themes, like overcoming past trauma and finding how important it is to have a support system. This book shows Lillys journey of healing and finding some happiness after everything she’s gone throughI liked this book because it gives the readers a chance to see Atlas’s perspective, it also dig’s deeper into other character’s lives that were barely seen in the first book. It’s a emotional and inspiring book, I think anyone who picks it up would enjoy it as much as I did.  One of my favorite characters in the book is Atlas, Lillys boyfriend.  Atlas can be described as loyal, one quote that can support my claim is “She’s my person, and I am hers, and thats something i’ve known since the first week we met.” This quote demonstrates Atlas’s commitment to Lilly, It also signifies  his compassion towards her.           My favorite quote from the book is “I prefer honesty over loyalty any day, because with honesty comes loyalty” This quote is meaningful to me because it highlights how honesty is the foundation for loyalty. It’s  also a lot more than saying your a loyal person, its actually being there for someone.

My Word Of Intention For 2025…

My word that I chose to focus on in 2025 is Unbothered. Here are 3 reasons on why I chose that word, I don’t want to be incorporated in every little thing that happens around me or my peers. It can help me reach my goals by blocking negative thoughts. Another reason on why I chose unbothered is because I wish to be unfazed or calm by  any kind challenges or stress. My final reason is that I want to embrace peace and self-assurance, It can help me be more confident .

If I Was The Principal for the Day…

I have been told that I am to be the principal of my school for the day. I would start my day by arriving to school at 9:15, a hour later,  It would give me more time to sleep in . Once I arrive to school I would greet my personal assistant that I hired the night before, they would help me be more flexible time wise. I would then make a special reward system for academic achievements or good behavior, to recognize those who are doing good.  I would set up a career day, so that students can learn about different professions and plan ahead. Then I would make the break and lunch longer, so that students can have more social interaction. At the end of the day, I would never accept another “principal for the day” offer, I would be open to anything else.

RAD READING-NOVEMBER

This month I read a book called It Ends With Us by Collen Hoover.  I have not finished reading this book yet; I am currently on page 221. So far, the main character Lilly Bloom finds herself on a apartment rooftop reflecting on her and her father’s  relationship  after delivering a eulogy at his funeral, she then meets Ryle Kincaid, a neurosurgeon, they both share a immediate connection. A few months pass by, and Lilly decides to open a flower shop fulfilling a long held dream, she hires Alysaa, Ryle’s younger sister, who then becomes a close friend. Ryle reappears in Lilly’s life, they both become much closer, and start going out. For their first date they went out to a fancy restaurant, as they got settled in, Lilly later finds out that the owner of the restaurant was her first love, Atlas, he provided emotional support to Lilly during the hard times. Once Lily got home, her memories of Atlas and her past start to resurface. I really like this book because of the way Colleen Hoover’s writing is very engaging and emotional, she covers  the reality of hard themes most authors don’t write about. My favorite character is Lilly, one trait that can be used to describe Lilly is resilient, for example “I feel like everyone fake’s  who they really are, when deep down we’re all equal amounts of screwed up. Some of us are just better at hiding it than others.” This demonstrates Lilly’s ability to confront her challenges in life, showing her inner strength. One of my favorite quotes from It Ends With Us is “  Just because we didn’t end up on the same wave doesn’t mean we aren’t still a part of the same ocean”  This quote is meaningful to me because it suggest that people can still remain connected in other ways, despite differences.

Im Thankful For…

Here are some of the many things I am thankful for.  I’m very thankful for my family, for their unconditional love and support they bring into my life. I’m thankful for my life, for being able to wake up to another day, to all of the opportunities I have been given, and for my fully functioning body. Lastly, I’m thankful for education, having access to it opens up many opportunities for personal growth,  and helps me gain skill and knowledge.
